Travelling By Car/Van/Minibus

If you plan to take the car ferry to get to Dunoon, Western Ferries is the provider.  It's cheaper to buy a ticket before you get on the ferry, here's the nearest shop to buy them: Paul’s Food & Wine, 94 Shore Street, Gourock PA19 1RB. 

The ferry departs from McInroy's Point, Gourock PA19 1BA to Hunters Quay, Dunoon PA23 8HL

NB. The ferry terminal is right in front of the Royal Marine Hotel!

Airport Transfers 

Glasgow International Airport is 25 miles from Dunoon. 

You can pre-book a cab to  transport you to the Gourock passenger ferry terminal for approximately £35-40.

Alternatively you can take a short cab ride or bus from the airport to Paisley Gilmour Street train station and take one of the regular trains to Gourock (approx 30 mins). 

Gourock train station and the passenger ferry terminal are in the same complex. Argyll Ferries is the service provider to Dunoon. 


Glasgow Central Station is the terminal for the Gourock line.

Saturday night travel

For Saturday day-trippers - the Queens Hall event will finish in time to catch the passenger ferry and train to Glasgow Central that will arrive just after midnight.
